COATING SYSTEM – Ship Hull Topside System – Coal Tar Encapsulation – Black

Description

1. Depending on the amount of bare (rusted) steel, apply a first and 2nd coat of Stelpant PU-Zinc rich (spot) primer on bare steel and/or corrosion areas. Two layers will improve performance.
2. Apply a third full coat of Stelpant-PU-Combination 300 on the flanks and underwater hull. Repeat with a 4th coat of Stelpant-PU-Combination 300 on the immersed areas.
3. OR on the flanks or topside, apply a 4th coat of Stelpant-PU MICA UV. This is a MIO filled, UV resistant and colour stable topcoat, with high impact and abrasion resistance. Black will remain black over extended periods of time.

The unique moisture cured urethane surface tolerant zinc rich primer Stelpant-PU Zinc demonstrates exceptional corrosion resistance, even when applied directly to tight rust. Stelpant-PU Zinc is known for its outstanding mechanical strength, abrasion- and impact resistance.

This moisture cured urethane system is compatible with most coal tar or bitcherman based old coatings, and can be overcoated with anti-fouling from International Paint. Do a small trial area first.
