Painting my facade with Trimetal Globacryl Facade.

What do I need to know?

Why Trimetal Globacryl Facade?

Golden Tips

  • Make sure the surface and surroundings are dry
  • April/May is still too early to paint because of possible dew at lower night temperatures
  • Temperature must be at least 10 to 20 degrees, also during the drying time of the paint
  • Stop painting after 3 pm in spring or autumn, even when the weather is nice
  • Paint the south facade after the afternoon sun

System

1. Unpainted

1.1 Surface Preparation

  • Wall saltpeter or salt efflorescence or loose particles: dry brushing
  • If necessary: ​​clean the surface with high-pressure cleaning
  • Treat algae and mosses with POLYFILLA PRO S705; Leave to act for 24 hours (repeat the treatment if necessary). Dry brush to remove any residues of green deposits, fungi and algae
  • No rinsing is required, which ensures a prolonged effect
  • Repair tears and cracks with Polyfilla Pro X300
  • Repair bad jointing.

1.2 Paint System

  • When chalking, after sufficient drying apply GLOBAPRIM HYDROFIX (light powder), or GLOBAPRIM FIX (heavy powder or salt rash)
  • On concrete and aerated concrete, apply 1 layer of GLOBAPRIM HYDRO
  • Apply Globacryl Facade in 1 or 2 coats with long-haired facade roller and brush

2. Painted substrate in good condition

2.1 Surface Preparation

  • High pressure cleaning, possibly degreasing with Polyfilla Pro S600
  • Remove loose paint with a knife or high pressure cleaning
  • Treat the presence of algae and mosses with POLYFILLA PRO S705; Leave to act for 24 hours (repeat the treatment if necessary). Dry brush to remove any residues of green deposits, fungi and algae
  • No rinsing is required, which ensures a prolonged effect

2.2 System

  • Untreated parts, absorbent or powdery surfaces: prime with GLOBAPRIM HYDROFIX (light powdering), or GLOBAPRIM FIX (heavy powdering)
  • Existing facade paints in good condition type of acrylic or latex: application of a layer of GLOBAPRIM HYDRO
  • Existing paint systems based on alkyd binder: apply a first coat of GLOBACRYL FAÇADE as an adhesive primer
  • Apply Globacryl Facade in 1 or 2 coats with long-haired facade roller and brush

3. Painted surface in poor condition or aged:

3.1 Surface Preparation

  • High pressure cleaning, possibly degreasing with Polyfilla Pro S600
  • Remove and brush off non-adherent layers or loose parts
  • Treat the presence of algae and mosses with POLYFILLA PRO S705; Leave to act for 24 hours (repeat the treatment if necessary). Dry brush to remove any residues of green deposits, fungi and algae
  • No rinsing is required, which ensures a prolonged effect
  • Fill cracks and fissures using Polyfilla Pro X300

3.2 Paint System

  • Untreated parts, absorbent or powdery surfaces: prime with GLOBAPRIM HYDROFIX (light powdering), or GLOBAPRIM FIX (heavy powdering)
  • Apply Globacryl Facade in 1 or 2 coats with long-haired facade roller and brush
